Welcome to Ms. Z's Blog for Social Issue Research Projects

Welcome, hardworking and very bright John Carroll students! Today, we will begin creating our blog site for our ever-evolving Social Issue Research Project. This project began when you selected an award-winning teen novel over the summer to read and take notes on for your English 9 summer reading assignment. You learned about a teenager(s) about your age and how she/he dealt with some current social issues or teen problems in the world. For the first two assignments of this project, you will be writing a letter to your character (as a character analysis essay) and looking up initial notes on Wikipedia on your possible social problem. Wikipedia is a great way to get your ideas rolling on your social issue topic, but from here, you will be going to more library databases for the rest of your research notes on your topic. Today, let's set up the blog site with an introduction page, your photo, and your letter to your character. Then we will add my blog address to your RSS feed list so that you can keep up with my updates on this assignment. Be creative, smart, and have fun researching and creating a blog website for other teens around the world.
